The Brain and Operator of Sphyrn

— Jean

“ I do everything.”

Jean S., aka Sharklin, is currently a full-time marketer, working at HungryPanda as a Marketing Associate. She wears many different hats— as an AAPI (Asian American Pacific Islanders) advocate, a bilingual podcast host, and a bilingual writer, editor, marketer, translator, and interpreter. Occasionally, she skateboards and wishes for more time to read books.

As an emphatic person who cares about human rights, she spent her leisure time doing pro bono translation for Response Crisis Translation, an organization that provides interpretation and translation services for migrants and refugees.

She started her marketing journey by volunteering for OCA-Greater Houston’s Big Bao Battle Planning Committee. Gradually, she found zest in the work she did for the AAPI community that she signed up as a contractor to run social events for OCA-Greater Houston and started Sphyrn Marketing along the way.

She co-hosted Season 2 podcast for US-Taiwan Watch, a traditional Chinese new media that focuses on reporting and bridging the US-Taiwan relationship.

Lin is multilingual and fluent in Mandarin, Taiwanese, and American English.

She was born in NY and relocated with her family to Taiwan in 1996. She received most of her education in Taiwan. After studying for two years at Chang Gung University, she transferred to the Ohio State University in 2012 and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in 2016. She then has been living in Texas since 2016.
